How to use Clean Excel & CSV
Select columns and remove surrounding spaces, empty rows, and duplicate rows. Review row counts before saving CSV or Excel.
When to use this tool
Apple with a trailing space differs from Apple. Trim spaces before removing duplicates to treat them as the same value.
Choose files and settings
Choose a file and check the preview → Select columns and cleaning options → Review and save the result. Keep the original files until you have checked the output.
Before you save
Rows are duplicates when all retained column values match.
Supported features and limits
Column selection, trimming, empty-row removal, and duplicate removal affect which rows remain. Review the counts. XLSX output stores values as text. Original formatting and formulas are not preserved. Each sheet supports up to 50,000 rows, 200 columns, and 1 million cells.
Check the result
Compare input and output row counts. Check leading zeros, blank values, and unmatched rows. Formatting and recalculated formulas are not part of the output.
