How to use Join Excel tables
Match product codes or member IDs to bring columns from a lookup table into your main table. Review matched and unmatched rows.
When to use this tool
Add prices and categories to an order table using a product code. Missing products leave the lookup columns blank.
Choose files and settings
Choose main and lookup tables → Choose keys and lookup columns → Review matches and save. Keep the original files until you have checked the output.
Before you save
Duplicate keys in the lookup table stop the operation instead of choosing an arbitrary match.
Supported features and limits
All rows from the main table are kept. Empty keys do not match. Rows found only in the lookup table are not added. Keys use exact text matching by default. Values are saved as text cells. Original formatting, macros, charts, and formula recalculation are not supported. Each sheet supports up to 50,000 rows, 200 columns, and 1 million cells; selected input files support up to 2 million cells in total.
Check the result
Compare input and output row counts. Check leading zeros, blank values, and unmatched rows. Formatting and recalculated formulas are not part of the output.
