How to use Split Excel sheets

Select sheets from an Excel workbook and save them as individual XLSX files in one ZIP.

When to use this tool

Choose January and March from a three-sheet workbook to create a ZIP containing two separate XLSX files.

Choose files and settings

Choose a workbook → Select sheets to export → Save individual files as ZIP. Keep the original files until you have checked the output.

Before you save

Only cell values are copied. Formulas referring to other sheets are not preserved.

Supported features and limits

Values are saved as text cells. Original formatting, macros, charts, and formula recalculation are not supported. Each sheet supports up to 50,000 rows, 200 columns, and 1 million cells; selected input files support up to 2 million cells in total. Selected empty sheets produce empty workbooks.

Check the result

Compare input and output row counts. Check leading zeros, blank values, and unmatched rows. Formatting and recalculated formulas are not part of the output.
