How to use Add PDF page numbers
Add numeric page numbers to a PDF. Choose the first page, starting number, position, and font size.
When to use this tool
Start on original page 2 with number 1 to leave the cover unchanged and number the remaining pages 1, 2, 3…
Choose files and settings
Choose a PDF → Set starting page and number style → Preview and save PDF. Keep the original files until you have checked the output.
Before you save
Existing page numbers are not erased. Place new numbers in an empty margin.
Supported features and limits
Only numeric labels are supported. Pages before the starting page are unchanged. Numbers follow the visible page orientation. Text and vectors are preserved where possible. Encrypted PDFs are not supported. Bookmarks, signatures, attachments, forms, and annotations may not be preserved. Open the result and check important documents before using them.
Check the result
Open the saved PDF and verify page order, rotation, margins, and content near the edges before printing or sharing.
